Brand identity for uglyducky, a streetwear fashion brand focusing on creating an unconditionally loving community.

The creation of the uglyducky logo was a deeply collaborative effort led by its founder, Jordan. Drawing inspiration from the classic "Ugly Duckling" tale, Jordan’s personal journey of transformation and self-discovery was central to the brand’s vision. He envisioned uglyducky as more than just a brand; it was to be a sanctuary for introverts who once felt like outsiders, offering them a place of solace and community.

Working closely with Jordan, I realized that this project was about more than just design—it was about capturing a profound narrative. The brand’s essence lay in embracing imperfections and celebrating personal growth, themes that resonated deeply with me and inspired my approach.

For the logo, I chose to move away from my usual geometric precision and adopt a more organic, freehand style. Instead of aiming for perfect symmetry, I allowed the proportions to flow naturally, intentionally incorporating imperfections. This approach wasn’t just a design choice; it was a deliberate reflection of the brand’s philosophy. The resulting logo transcends mere visual identity—it's a tribute to the beauty of transformation and the journey from 'ugly duckling' to a confident individual. It embodies the spirit of uglyducky’s mission, serving as a symbol of authenticity and empowerment.
